Paul Emsley
Paul Emsley is the creator and lead developor of COOT, a widely used software for visualizing, manipulating, refining and validating structural models produced by X-ray crystallography. An interesting history of events leading to the creation of COOT can be found here, and and interesting perspective of the ongoing journey to develop COOT can be found here.
During his talk, Paul covered recent efforts to develop tools within COOT to analyze protein:ligand complexes, specifically to assist with the editing and design of ligand coordinates, as well as the automated scoring of protein:ligand complexes.
Paul’s presentation can be viewed here.
