08/08/2016 User: Is the K edge of Sr (16.1046 keV, 0.7699 A) accessible at 8.3.1? I have some crystals of a calcium-binding protein that I've grown with strontium. There may be as many as 20-30 Sr bound to each monomer. I could also try lanthanides, but Sr seems like a good calcium replacement for this particular protein. James: Yes, we can get there. Only 1.6 kGy/s, so crystals will last for 5 hours before they die, having given off the same number of photons they do in 5 minutes at our usual data collection energy of 11111 eV. But you can certainly still collect data.
